KATSE AND MOHALE DAMS – these 2 dams are part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project which commenced in 1986. This project was put together to capture, store and transfer water from the Orange or Senque River to South Africa, mainly to the Free-State & Gauteng which has a large concentration of industry, population and agriculture.
MASERUIs the capital of Lesotho and is the largest urban area in the country. It sits on the Caledon River which is the natural border with South Africa.
MALETSUNYANE WATERFALLSNear the town of Semonkong the falls where reported by a French missionary in 1881 and are the highest single drop waterfalls in Africa at 192m. Also present at the waterfall is the Guinness World Record highest commercially-run abseil found on the planet.
SANI PASSLocated in the Western side of Kwa-Zulu Natal this pass climbs 1332 vertical meters from 1544m to 2876m and is 9km in length. With the South African border at the bottom and Lesotho border at the top this pass is world renowned and travelled every day by 4x4 groups wanting to experience this notoriously dangerous route with the most amazing views.
